Tuesday Running

Meet 9:30am Abbey Stadium


Meet 6:30pm Abbey Stadium

The aim of Sunday is to teach you how to run more effectively and introduce you to fartleks, hill bounding and other exotic training methods!!!
We vary the training between hill work, speed sessions, distance runs and trail runs. Generally lasting between 60 to 90 minutes depending on the intensity of the session.



Tuesday evening is a sociable running session that covers between 6-8km.
This session is ideal for those that are new to running who are capable of running 5km, returning from injury or just want to run in a group. 



Wednesday Running

Wednesday is the STARS track session. This session is split into three groups. 
The first group will concentrate on adults, speed and speed endurance.
The second group is our  junior section. This is aimed at 12 and overs and will get them running but with some fun involved.

Last but not least we have our  junior 7-11 group nicknamed 'Astros'. The Astros will be following the Athlete Development Model as promoted by England Athletics which will see your child getting involved in activities covering running, jumping and throwing. The sessions will be lead by insured and trained coaches who will be aiming to give your child an introduction into the world of athletics. Taking into account the ages of the children the coaches will aim to work on and improve the agility, balance and coordination of your child and also using athletics 365 which is a programme designed at bringing the best out of your children and hopefully helping them reach there full potential in whatever discipline  they choose to follow.

The sessions will be lead by Hannah Baker, Louise Carroll,  Ian Widdows  and Mark Churchill and more people are being trained in the future so that we can offer strength in depth.

Thursday night runs will concentrate on trails and canals. We will try and vary the routes as much as possible and  will continue to meet and run from a different pub so please check Facebook for the meeting place. We have also decided if you attend any of the other sessions earlier in the week then there will be no charge for this session.
Although not essential it maybe worth investing in a good reliable pair of trail trainers. They will be invaluable when the weather makes underfoot muddy and slippy.

Saturday Running (Club Session)

The Saturday morning group run varying distances up to 20 miles. Aimed at people training for half or full marathons. The route and distances will be posted on the Facebook page every week. This is not a group for beginners!!!
